ASAs Quinn and Taylor are members of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force/Special Prosecutions Bureau. ASA Quinn is a UIC alum. ASAs Quinn and Taylor will share their experiences as ICAC Task Force members as well as their paths to law school and the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. There will be plenty of time for Q & A.

Gavin Quinn | Assistant State's Attorney | Cook County State's Attorney's Office
Gavin Quinn is an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, a position he has held for over 8 years. Gavin is currently assigned to the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force within the Special Victims Unit handling primarily child sexual abuse material, internet child sexual exploitation, and internet facilitated child sex crimes cases throughout Cook County, IL. Prior to this assignment, Gavin has held positions in the Felony Trial Division, Felony Review Unit, the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Unit, the Criminal Appeals Unit, and the Financial Crimes/Public Corruption Unit. Gavin was hired by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2016 upon graduating from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Gavin received his BA in Criminology, Law, and Justice and Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Gavin is a member of the National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Bar Association and a board member of LAGBAC – Chicago’s LGBTQ+ Bar Association. Gavin also holds the position of President as part of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group. In his free time, Gavin enjoys DJing in Chicago's LGBTQ+ neighborhood and playing bagpipes for the Chicago Stockyard Kilty Band.

Marcell Taylor | Assistant State's Attorney | Cook County State's Attorney's Office
Marcell Taylor is an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, a position he has held for over 12 years. Marcell is currently assigned to the Cook County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force handling primarily child sexual abuse material, internet child sexual exploitation, and internet facilitated child sex crimes cases throughout Cook County, IL. Prior to this assignment, Gavin has held positions in the Felony Trial Division, Felony Review Unit, the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Unit, the Child Support Enforcement Division, and the Financial Crimes/Public Corruption Unit. Marcell was hired by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2012 upon graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Marcell received his BA in Political Science and Minor in Professional Writing from the DePaul University. Marcell is a member of the National Black Prosecutor’s Association, Alliance of Black Leadership and Excellence, and National District Attorney Association. Marcell has certificates in Criminal Litigation, Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Marcell teaches Trial Advocacy and Lectures various groups on Evidence and Trial Law.
