Mock Mediation/Settlement Conference with Justice Michael Gallagher (UIC alum)

UIC alum, Justice Michael Gallagher (Ret.), will lead a mock mediation/settlement session at UIC. Student "actors" will participate as litigants and attorneys. Justice Gallagher will also take time to outline his educational and career path and has generously agreed to save time for students' questions.

Justice Michael Gallagher (Retired) | Gallagher Mediation Services LLC
Judge Gallagher served on the Circuit Court for 8 years, 6 of them in Law Division. He also served 15 years in the Appellate Court. He was Presiding Justice of his Division multiple times and served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the First District Appellate Court from September 1, 2009 until August 31, 2010. During his tenure on the Circuit Court he successfully mediated many complex cases in diverse areas of law, including mediated settlements of over $100 Million. He also served on the Mediation Committee of the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. Justice Gallagher is a Certified Mediator through his participation in the Cook County Mediation Training Program. Since retiring in April 2011, Justice Gallagher has been the principal of Michael J. Gallagher Mediation Services. He is a mediator, arbitrator and also conducts appellate consultations.
