Download iCal FilePre-law Advising will have a table at the event and you are welcome to stop by with questions or just to say “Hi”.
On April 6th you will be able to hear from a variety of perspectives and careers in the Criminology, Law, and Justice field and learn what they all do. The professions of law enforcement, forensic anthropology/special investigation, legal, social work, counseling, research, family and domestic violence advocacy, and government agencies (FBI, DEA, U.S. Postal Service, Office of the Inspector General, Chicago Housing Authority) will be represented. This is a GREAT opportunity for anyone who is exploring potential career options in the CLJ field! We will also have representation from the UIC Graduate College and the LAS Career Development and Internship office to help field any questions students may have after talking with professionals.
Each professional will have a table throughout the entirety of the event where students will be able to ask individual questions, share their interests, and connect! Professionals will be able to share about their careers, experiences, and provide insight. Throughout the event, professionals will have 15-minute sessions in the Think Tank room for students to hear their stories and advice! They will share about their education, backgrounds, careers, and how you got to where they are.
The primary focus is geared toward CLJ students, but students in the social sciences or with interest in related fields/professions, will find this event worthwhile as well. All are welcome!
